Your Certified Running Coaches

Kendra Kuhlman

Kendra is an active mother of two and has been running for almost 15 years.  She enjoys running for fitness and competition, having completed several races including 2 full marathons.  Kendra has seen how the effects of running can truly change your life, especially during and after pregnancies.  She works to coordinate Marathon Clubs at elementary schools throughout Lawrence, and believes in keeping kids active and sharing her passion for running and health with children! Kendra is a certified RRCA Running Coach who has helped clients of all ages develop training plans and reach their fitness goals for success.

Heidi Matsakis

Heidi, who has been running for over 8 years, believes running has been life changing.  She has completed numerous races, including the 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon distances.  She is currently training for her first 50K.  The half marathon distance is her favorite as she feels that it is a challenging, yet attainable distance for any level of runner. Heidi has worked around collegiate athletes for over 14 years and loves to help others reach their health and fitness goals.  Heidi has helped several friends and running buddies with training plans.  She is a Certified Athletic Trainer, a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer, and RRCA Certified Running Coach.

Becky McClure

Becky grew up in a family of seven kids so she was always running here and there.  She got “hooked on running” during the 1980s running boom.  Becky is a certified RRCA Running Coach and currently teaches water exercise classes and a winter indoor bike spinning class.  She ran track in high school and has been competing in running events from the 5K to marathon and triathlons since. She recently completed a half ironman in Hawaii.  She works as a physical therapist for Lawrence Memorial Hospital where she has treated recreational runners, professional and Olympic athletes.

Heather Krase-Minnick

Heather had enjoyed the process of beginning to see herself as a runner over the past 20 years. She started her journey as an avid run/walker and has gone on to train for and complete numerous marathons.  She likes the half marathon distance the best.  Heather views running as a remedy for the things that can get her down in life and her husband and kids can vouch for the joy that running brings to her face on a regular basis.  Heather works full-time in child welfare at the District Court.  She is a certified RRCA Running Coach and also a certified Group Fitness Instructor for Group Power and Group Ride. Heather prefers to run and instruct in the early morning hours.

All of the above volunteer running coaches are members of runLawrence and all hold RRCA Running Coach Certifications.
