Jan 26 - Sally Zogry, Health Care Access, reports that Jerome Merlau (Cedar Hill TX) will run his first half marathon at the Kansas Half Marathon in April. Here's the YouTube video of a person's weight loss and fitness journey. Hopefully he and his friends will motivate many others to take the first step!

Jan 20 - Former KU track man Paul Hefferon ran a 1:04:55 at the Naples Florida Half Marathon on Jan 16 to qualify for the Olympic Trials Marathon.

Jan 13 - The Olathe Running Club is collecting donations for Kristy McRoberts' family to help with medical costs. The Garry Gribble's Running Sports stores are helping collect money to forward off to Jason Gregg with the Olathe club. You may drop anything off at the store. Jan 9 - Kristy McRoberts was struck by a car while running in Olathe yesterday and suffered serious injuries. She is in intensive care at this time.

Kristy has been a member of the Olathe Running Club since August of last year. Jason Gregg, club president, has asked that I relay to each of you the importance of having identification on you while running. Kristy had no identification and it took the police several hours before they were able to identify her and notify her family.
