Minutes from December were passed out and no corrections were made.  Don approved the minutes and they were seconded by Dee.

Dee gave members an update on the Thanksgiving Day 5K.  She reported that we had made a net profit of $8,798.29 from the race after all bills were cleared.  Dee also informed the group that next year’s race will be recognized by the RRCA as the RRCA State Championship 5K.  This will potentially draw in some more participants as well as provide more opportunities for awards for top finishing participants.

Dan reported that a sub-committee met prior to today’s meeting to review all donation applications for the local Marathon Clubs and other local entities that focus on fitness. The group consensus was to allow the allotted money to be split evenly amongst all entities, leaving each of them to receive $400 from runLawrence.   Woodlawn Elementary would receive a $3,000 donation for use of their facilities for the 5K.  Heather Krase-Minnick and Elizabeth Stewart will contact those programs being awarded and get donations to them.

Adrineh Mehdikhani, a Marathon Club representative from Sunflower Elementary, was on-hand to thank us for our donation as well as to speak to members in attendance about their specific marathon club and 5K that they organize each year .  She spoke about how important the donations that they receive are to them and what they mean for their club and its participants.
