Youth Running Project

The Youth Running Project (YRP) seeks to support and enhance existing youth running efforts in the Lawrence area for K-8 grade youth. YRP will expose youth to distance running and training principles under the supervision of qualified coaches providing them with opportunities for running, training and competitions at age appropriate levels. YRP is under the umbrella of runLawrence, an affiliate of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA).

Middle School Cross Country

Aug 3 - Unfortunately runLawrence will be unable to offer the Middle School Cross Country program this fall. We are sorry we will not be able to offer the program at this time, but we will continue to post other running opportunities for youth on this site as they arise.

There are several nice trail races in the area associated with the Lawrence Trail Hawks and the Trail Nerds of various distances. Many of the racing opportunities can be found on the runLawrence website.

Also, you might inquire at your respective middle schools about forming running clubs.

Again, we are sorry we are not able to offer the XC program this fall. It has been our privilege the past three years to provide middle schoolers with a cross country experience.
