The Races Are Virtual but the Running Is Real - Participants in virtual races run whenever they can, wherever they can, and say they still have some of the sense of being part of a crowd, even if they’re running alone
On a recent Sunday morning, Kate Silvester ran a 5K. She didn’t have to worry about where to park to get to the starting line in time: She just headed out to a biking and running path behind her house and onto a back road.
Her race was a virtual 5K associated with the NYC Half, which was run in New York the same day.

Congratulations to Dan Kuhlman who ended 18th out of 38th finishers in the Syllamo 3 Day Trail Running Stage Race that covered over 150 kilometers in the Arkansas Ozark Mountains. Dan was the oldest finisher ahead of half the field. Stage 1 was a 50K, followed the next day by a 50 miler, then ending on day 3 with a 20K. results
"Felt really good about the race. Super challenging trails and terrain, but a great venue, event, and opportunity to challenge oneself. The trail system is very extensive and varied. Running long distances on hilly terrain on back to back to back days was an 'interesting' experience, for sure!" - Dan

Why You Should Be Skeptical About Your Wrist-Based Heart Rate - Wrist-based heart-rate technology is not perfected yet, and it varies based on the watch and athlete. For some athletes and watches, wrist-based heart rate is not accurate during intense activity like running. Liberal High School head cross country coach Maggie Lapinski won her second Liberal Pancake Day race in three years. 28 degrees with snow on the ground around the streets, Lapinski raced down the wet course to win with a time of 62.98 down the 415 yard route. Lapinski's time was good enough to claim the international titles as Olney (England)’s winner, Amy Butler finished the Olney leg in 70.00.

This year's Shamrock Shuffle had a new 10K course going out on the levee east coming back on north Lawrence streets before crossing the bridge and running through the Sandra Shaw Park and Burcham trails. The 5K as before went west on the levee from Johnny's. Results
