Since the runLawrence Thanksgiving Day 5K is canceled this year, several people have mentioned they still plan to run tomorrow. Wherever and whenever you go, please be safe. The County wants us to keep crowds to 10 people or less. Wear a mask and keep your distance. You might dig out some sort of T-Day run clothing in remembrance of past runs.

Crunch Fitness is hosting a Virtual 5K Benefiting BabyJay's Legacy of Hope during Thanksgiving Week. You can participant in this Lawrence run for the holiday or among several in the Topeka and KC areas. RunLawrence is not hosting the annual 5K because the COVID19 pandemic, but hopes to be back in 2021.

Today we have John Knepper's photos of the Levee 12K. We are so pleased that John and Dee covered our two small road races this fall. Below, Dick Lipsey approaches the finish. Dick researches the state's road race results to post on the state records web site.

We're glad Lile and Dee Budden came back from Colorado - Lile to run and Dee photographing all the participants. Click on the photos above to see the full album of shots. Above, Jackie Wilson does a dance wave for Dee; Ryland O'Hanlon (23) set the new state record for M13-15.
The strong gusty wind from the south was blocked by the long line of trees between the levee and the river making the wind not an issue and many people made the Kansas Road Race State Honor Rolls. Photos | Results

Congratulations to Matt "Superman" O'Reilly who ran four marathons in 15 days, all under 3:30. His latest was the Louisville Marathon, Nov 8th in 3:24:17. The weekend before he was the 3:30 pacer at both the Little Apple and Gobbler Grind marathons. On Oct 25, he ran a 3:25:09 in Bloomington, IL.

Results from the Levee 12K today. Blustery winds from the south was felt at the start/finish area. But the tree line along the south side of the levee made for a good windbreak. Several people had times good enough to qualify for the honor roll in the Kansas Road Race Records. Two people set state age group records: Ryland O'Hanlon in M13-15 and Dee Boeck in F70-74.
