Congratulations to the girls cross country teams of Eudora and Baldwin. Eudora is the 4A champ and Baldwin was right behind in 2nd. Tonganoxie boys took 3rd in 4A. Races were held in Wamego.

Armed with Smarts and Science, Camille Herron Sets an Astounding Record in Greece. The American ultrarunner credits patience and reduced carbohydrate intake to helping her smash the women’s course record in the Spartathlon, the iconic 153-mile race from Athens to Sparta. more

Matt O"Reilly was named the club volunteer of the year for 2023. He has served as the club vice president, helped at various places for years with the Thanskgiving Day Run. He has volunteered as a pacer at numerous events around the regional and with his art skills hand crafted many awards for local races. He's been race director for Trail Hawks races and the Kansas Half Marathon. When not doing so many things with running, he's an engineering professor at KU and won the 2019 HOPE Award for Teaching Excellence. He's been so busy this summer we hadn't given him the award until today at the Ad Astra Running Store.
Sept 30
A new event was held at Clinton State Park today - the Disc n Dash. Runners ran on a 10K trail course and a teammate played 18 holes of disc golf. Times and scores were added to determine winners. Results
Special awards were made by Matt O'Reilly.

Jackie Wilson's track workouts with runLawrence members has paid off with her 2nd place overall finish at the Windsor Women's 10K on Sept 23rd. She's back home in the UK and running strong as ever. Read more about her amazing race.

The big cross country race, the Rim Rock Classic, draws some of the best high school runners. Over 3,000 ran over the two days. All results

We've lost a longtime leader in the running community. Lou Joline passed away Sept 3. Lou was the president of the Kansas City Track Club for 10 years and was also very active in the Blue Springs Running Club and Mid America Running Association. He directed many races, the most successful of which was the Brew-to-Brew Relay which he directed for 20 years. Obituary
