Many races in the area this morning including two in Lawrence. 8 am was the Leading Causes of Life 5K.

At 9:30 was the Beat Beethoven 5K at the Southwind Theatres with a string quartet at the start.

Congratulations on some out of state results:
Today: Congratulations to Jackie Wilson finishing the London Marathon in 3:19:33. 42nd in her age category.
Apr 13: Damon Mar finished the Gorge Waterfalls 100K (Cascade Locks, OR) in 15 hr 16 min.

A Masters team, the KC Smoke, set a new age group record in the 4x800m at Friday's Kansas Relays. Their time was 8:53.16. More action at the Relays on Saturday. (l-to-r) Vern Cushenbery, Jonathan Bishard, Mike Bartkoski, Jeremy Garrett.

Former KU track star Bryce Hoppel won the World Indoor 800m Championship in Glasgow on March 3rd.

The 35th Annual Shamrock Shuffle was held in perfect, sunny weather. The 10K and 5K races start at Johnny's and travels along the river levee and back along north Lawrence streets. Afterwards, participants stuck around for an Irish breakfast and pancake feed.
