Club Meeting Minutes

4:35 pm. Lawrence Public Library

Present, Brenda Groskinsky, Gene Wee, Dee Boeck, Celeste Leonardi, John and Janet Huchingson, Don and Lori Cackler, Beck McClure and Molly Wood.

1. Don moved and Becky seconded that the minutes be approved.  Passed unanimously.

2. Molly moved and Don seconded that the treasurer’s report be accepted.  In addition, the treasurer noted that all the gifts to the Lawrence Public Schools had been made.

3. Brenda attended the coaching class in Lawrence. She also entered into discussion with the Trail Hawks about possible collaboration with runLawrence.

4. Brenda’s written proposal that runLawrence honor an Outstanding Club Member or Members annually was approved unanimously with the friendly amendment that the award include a $50 Downtown Lawrence gift certificate.  Molly will obtain the certificate for the first year’s award which will be announced at our club potluck.

5. Dee made an interesting proposal for runLawrence’s involvement in the Healthy Kids Running Series.  A lively discussion ensued, and there was general agreement that we should explore this opportunity in more detail.  Dee and others committed to doing that and bringing more information to the board at our next meeting.

6. Dee’s update on our T-day run included the information that our new course is certified and that we’ve made a deposit of $4,000 with Ad Astra for the gloves we’ll be giving away to race entrants.

7. We all told about the races we’ve been in lately.

8. Our next meeting is on Sunday, July 1 @ 4:30 at the Lawrence Public Library.

9. Our annual potluck will be on August 5, tentatively at the Visitor’s Center (Depot) from 4:30 to 6:30.

Dee moved and John seconded that the meeting be adjourned, and all agreed.
